310 Smith Ranch Road San Rafael

Take the Lucas Valley and Smith Ranch Road exit off Highway 101.  Take Smith Ranch Road.  Smith Ranch Road heads east.  Continue on Smith Ranch Road until it crosses the railroad tracks of the Smart Train.  At the stop sign, continue straight.  As you follow the road, you will see a small parking area on your right.  There are picnic tables and a wooden dock right there by the parking area.  Also, you will find the trail that follows Gallinas Creek as it flows into San Pablo Bay.  The trail overlooks McInnis Marsh.  Bring binoculars to spot the birds that flock to the tidal flats.

If you miss the small parking area, the road immediately ends in a large parking area for the McInnis Park Golf Center. You could also park there on the far right-hand side.  You will find the trail just behind the row of trees on the right.
