SEPTEMBER 8 – Marin Yacht Club, 24 Summit Drive, San Rafael Beautiful views of channel and SF Bay, boats, distant hills and the Richmond Bridge, or sketch the Marina, boats and San Rafael hills, or sketch distant view of Mt. Tam as seen from left of the staff office.

Directions: Take San Rafael Exit off 101, then take 2nd Street East and go 2.1 miles (2nd becomes San Pedro Rd.)  Watch for sign for Marin Yacht Club. Turn Right on Summit Drive. Linda will meet you at the Gate to let you onto the property. (If you will be later than 10:30, not a problem. Give Linda a call so she can let you onto the property.)  Once through the gate take Right onto Somers Peterson Lane for parking and for beautiful locations on the property.

Beautiful view of hills and field from LEFT parking area or view of stunning church from the FRONT of the church parking lot. Restrooms are located in the Auditorium to Right of front lawn as you stand in parking area.

Please note: Because this is an active school area, St. Vincent’s has asked that no sketching occur on front lawn area or behind the office building located centrally at the end of the front lawn. Directions: Take 101 North to Miller Creek/St Vincent’s Drive (Exit after Lucas Valley Rd.) Take an immediate Right to St. Vincent’s Drive and after a beautiful drive through Eucalyptus, trees, park in the lot on your Left as the road ends for beautiful views of fields and hills.

Dramatic water views with land jutting out in water ies with  panorama of Mt Tam in the background.  Also, interesting homes along San Rafael Avenue. Directions: From 101, take Tiburon Boulevard and in approximately 8 minutes (in good traffic) take a Right turn on San Rafael Avenue.  Park anywhere along San Rafael Avenue.

Beautiful little park bordering the Corte Madera Creek, with interesting stones, active bird life and trees scattered about, with houses lining the water on the far side and a walkway that leads you to views of Mt. Tam .  Directions: From 101 take the Greenbrae Exit at Sir Francis Drake Blvd and then take the first Left (Barry Way) at the light just before the Bon Air Shopping Center. Go past Drakes Landing Road and take a Left on Laderman Lane. Park on the street or nearby and walk to the water.
